Exhibition of paintings at Robinson -Gay Art Gallery, Hexham, Northumberland.

Some of my new Seascape paintings are being shown in Robinson-Gay Art Gallery in Hexham, Northumberland.
I am continuing to produce more of these paintings as the combined use of acrylic paint and pastels is such a joy. I find greater expressive freedom in this subject matter than in the production of cityscapes.

I've recently added a new gallery to my website called 'Sand Sea and Sky' which features a collection of paintings of various locations along the Northumbrian Coastline including Cullercoats, Tynemouth Longsands, and St Abb's Bay.

Working in pastels has given me a greater freedom to express subject matter such as the sea, which I feel I can now take into the medium of oil paint.

I plan to exhibit some of this work in this summer's art tour to be held by Network Artists North East.

Sand Sea and Sky

Since selling seven Seascape paintings in the Network Artists of Northumbria in 2013 I am  producing more in the same subject. Here are some I have already completed.

'Coast' paintings

I have just completed a set of new pictures of some of my favourite areas of the North East coast. I have used pastels as they easily convey atmospheric perspective in colour, tone, and an interesting contrast between opaque and clear pigment.

These pictures are to be used in the Art Tour of 2013 held by Network Artists of Northumberland of which I am a member.

I will be exhibiting in this event with two other artists in the ''Shopping Mall ''at Whitley Bay.

Network Artists of Northumberland Art Tour 2013

The Network Art Tour is an annual event involving artists throughout Northumberland who invite the public to come to their studios and galleries to talk about their work and to take part in their workshops.

The work is produced in a variety of media such as paintings and drawings, glass and ceramics, sculpture, textiles, and print.

The work I will be exhibiting will explore a subject matter new to me in which I will capture scenes along the Northumberland coastline from fishing villages, beautiful bays to areas around the mouth of the River Tyne.
