Banks of the Tyne

On the industrial banks of the River Tyne between Newcastle and the river mouth is an area for redevelopment where once a thriving ship building industry existed. Its disappearance leaves some empty repair bays containing industrial remains shrouded in a covering of natural reclamation. This space encourages reflection on the transition from an environment of fire and sweat of human toil to one of silent emptiness within which are signs of imminent change.
